Are Chokers Going To Die In 2017?
The 90’s had a huge influence on the runway trends in 2016. The most prominent of them all were in fact the chokers. Seen on every model off-duty, bloggers, celebrities & Instagrammers, chokers captured our feeds and minds in 2016. But have they reached the end of their fashion life cycle? Have we seen them enough to throw them away now?
Well according to the trends for Spring 2017, chokers are not done yet. They are still on the map but in a different form. Instead of being a loud & bold, rather in 2017 they will be super-fine and minimal. The trend will see them evolve into something daintier. The super-fine choker is a perfect addition to your spring wardrobe. They can be worn separately for a minimal look or even layered with long necklaces so as to add a new element to the look.
A lot of designers showed us how a minimal choker can be worn this Spring.
There were lots of different styles of minimal chokers seen at the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2017 show. This includes chokers with mini buckles in various shapes & colors as well as fine chokers with beads & accessories.
At Celine we saw a different approach to the whole trend. Different styles of minimal chokers were worn together taking necklace layering to the next level. Mixing various textures & styles makes it an incredible way to wear the trend.
And at Dior it was all about being back to the basics. Sported by various models on the Christian Dior Spring 2017 runway was the classic black choker with a twist. They featured some really cool miniature embellishments like a gold heart & Ja’Dior. I totally love them!!
We always find new & fresh ways to wear own favourites. And similarly this new way to wear them is just amazing.
If you also love these jewellery pieces & would love to try them in this new avatar, you should check out these amazing minimal chokers, all under $5, from Forever 21.
While I personally don’t wear chokers (they never suit me), but I love that they are not going away anytime soon. The whole minimal look of the choker is actually makes me want to try them again. Let’s see if they suit me now!!
