When it comes to sexy red carpet couture, Atelier Versace is a go to fashion house for celebrities. Every year, the couture collection presents us with some jaw dropping, show stopping pieces that always feature intricate details.
The same was true for the fall 2017 Couture collection. Continuing the no show premise from the previous couture presentation, the 19 pieces from the collection were showcased at the Versace Salon at Avenue Montaigne.
The collection takes inspiration from Steven Meisel’s 1988 medieval Versace campaign that showed super models as goddess with a hint of warrior spirit. Lavish fabrics, articulated & armour like constructions, antique bronzed and gold finishes were a major theme for this collection. The collection also referenced the classic Versace filled with glitz, glamour & high-heat intensity
White coats & blazers with statement sleeves & metallic snakeskin embroideries were statement pieces that are a perfect fit for power women. The skin fit jumpsuit with bronze metallic scale embroideries perfectly portrayed the sexy yet powerful side of Atelier Versace.
The short dresses at Versace always have story of their own. Statement sleeves, sculpted pleats & beautiful embroideries completed the story for the short dresses. One of the dresses also featured a 3-D printed snake motif belt.
Darker hues were used to depict the warrior spirit in the dresses. The ultra chic navy blue chiffon long dress with a chain mail body & 3-D printed belt was the perfect example of Versace’s demure glamour. The gilded black long dress featured a beautiful neckline, again made with 3-D printing.
Going back to the nudes, the use of chiffon & structured pleats is an exquisite example of Donatella’s creative genius. The silver chain suspended in a cobweb manner, to make a beautiful gown is very reminiscent of Versace’s pervious collections.
No couture show is complete without a nice white dress. Intricate embroideries, fur, flowy chiffon & beads completed the white perfection of these dresses.
Over all, the entire collection has been designed for red-carpet domination & it right fully lives up to the expectation. Atelier Versace is always one step ahead with using innovation in fashion & by the using 3-D printing, it proved that technology & fashion can go hand in hand to create masterpieces.
